Set up in the year 1949, AIRSEC S.A. has always been a company that has played a pioneering role in the design and manufacture of industrial equipment for the comprehensive treatment and drying of air and gases, whether compressed or at atmospheric pressure. Shortly after its creation, AIRSEC S.A. broke new ground in the Spanish market by manufacturing and marketing an exclusive desiccant called CARBAGEL, followed some years later by Gip-Gel. Those first desiccants represented the beginning of the new technique of ADSORPTION drying.

The systems designed by AIRSEC for dry atmospheres have proved to be emblematic, as has its sterile conditioning equipment for manufacturing areas or warehouses, geared to pharmaceutical laboratories and similar industries.

The status of adsorption drying technology had been consolidated by the end of the 1960s, at which time AIRSEC S.A., offering a wide range of desiccant products (aluminas, molecular sieves, silica gels, etc.), opted to focus definitively on the pressurised gas and air sector, leading to the company earning great renown and achieving technological self-sufficiency.
By the middle of the 1970s, the company's old factory in Sant Adriá del Besós (in Barcelona's industrial belt) had become too small and outdated to cater for the production volumes and quality levels required by the industry in general, and by nuclear power stations, petrochemical plants and Europe's leading engineering departments in particular. The company decided to move to a new location where there would be more space and better communications for meeting the demands of customers.

Since 1975, AIRSEC S.A. has been based at the Polígono El Pedregar industrial estate in Montmeló (Barcelona), where it has premises with over 3,000 m˛ of useable floor area. The company's new infrastructures have enabled it to retain its position of undisputed leadership in terms of the design and manufacture of drying equipment adapted to the specific needs of individual processes. AIRSEC S.A. is able to undertake design and manufacturing work in accordance with various codes, such as ASME VIII and AD 2000-Merkblätt, as well as with classification and control bodies, such as Lloyd's Register, Bureau Veritas, Stoomwezen, etc.
AIRSEC S.A. is approved by TÜV SÜD, in accordance with AD 2000-Merkblatt HP 0 / TRD 201 / DIN EN 729-2 and the European Pressure Equipment Directive 97/23/EC. The company completed the implementation of a quality system in keeping with the ISO-9001 standard in 1997 and went on to obtain UNE-EN-ISO 9001:2000 certification in 2002. The company's equipment meets the requisites of the Pressure Equipment Directive 97/23/EC.

AIRSEC S.A. has the technology and experience to develop the most appropriate design to meet any requirement where refrigeration and adsorption drying equipment is concerned, for any pressure, temperature, flow rate and air/gas quality levels sought. Our product range also includes equipment for the thermal treatment and filtering of gases and liquids.
Additionally, we market drying equipment that meets the AIRSEC S.A. quality standard (refrigeration/adsorption drying), as defined in out technical catalogues (downloads area), for problem-free service and a high degree of reliability and durability, for all kinds of industrial settings.
